Where does McGoodman stand on the issues that are important to you?
The Environment:
McGoodman is all about the GREEN. He believes there is a balance that must be established between people's needs
and the needs of the environment, and once that balance is found, it cannot be compromised for either party. He is obstinate
towards his belief that protecting the environment is essential to the well being of all people everywhere, and it must be
maintained under all circumstances. He vows, if elected, to be faithful towards these ideologies and petition for
stricter restrictions for business usage of environment resources, more natural preservations, more efficient resourcing and
housing policies, prohibiting big companies from corrupting the environment for their profits or political gain, and also
to be an exemplary figure promoting recycling, reusing and reducing and a clean, efficient lifestyle. He'll look
to see public facilities move towards being equipped with solar power for electricty, flushes that conserve water, biodegradable
soap and tissues, less paper towels and more fan dryers, and systems that filter and reuse water and timers to
conserve electricity...
Abortion:
McGoodman believes in every women's right to chose.
Gay Marriage:
While he understands that people may or may not like the idea of homosexuality, on a technical level McGoodman believes
the state disallowing gay marriage is discriminatory and therefore unconstitutional. It is not in the state's hands
to prohibit individuals based on sexual preference from a marriage license and the monetary and visage allowances that accompany
the license, nor is it the state's place to decide what preference is considered right or wrong, and therefore he
is pro-gay marriage.
on a more local level
Jobs:
Having worked with a union for over 20 years to have his job turned over to a private company, McGoodman has personally
experienced job transfer which forced the union to become ineffective in protecting his job, and believes that allowing jobs
to become privitized is a bad move. Therefore, he supports unions and believes that companies like Walmart that come
in and take over a community is bad for competition and the community, and even the economy on a broader scale. McGoodman,
if elected, will fight for unions and broad competition within communites that induce jobs and wages.
Education:
McGoodman has an immense background in education, and believes himself most ready to help change a system he sees as
not necessarily ineffective, but greatly faltering under corruption. If elected, his goals are to make those higher
up in the system more accountable and set his main priority as seeing to it that the students and the teachers are where the
focus is - as it should be. He also wants to put energy into distracting the charter movement and the privitization
of schools as it wrongs teachers with taking power away from the Union and making corrupt administrations accountable to themselves
and the state alone.
